Comparison selections stay in your browser
The directory and comparison tool may save selected service IDs in your browser’s localStorage under the key moveradvice-compare. This helps retain your shortlist on the same browser and site origin. It is not an account and is not synchronized across devices by the application.
A shared comparison URL contains the selected service IDs in its query string. Anyone with that URL can see the selected services. Do not put personal or sensitive information in a shared URL.
Static site search
Search runs in your browser using a locally hosted Pagefind index. The application does not send your search query to a third-party search or analytics service. Your browser downloads the index assets needed to search the site.
Search terms can appear in the search page URL and in your browser history. Loading or sharing a URL that contains a query may expose that query in hosting request logs or to the person receiving the link.
Cookies and analytics
The application does not set tracking cookies and has no analytics integration. Local comparison storage is browser storage, not a tracking cookie. This statement describes the application; hosting infrastructure and external services have their own policies.
Hosting requests
The hosting provider may process routine request data such as IP address, browser information, requested URLs and timestamps for delivery, security and operational purposes. We do not promise that visiting a static site produces no server logs. Retention and infrastructure practices depend on the hosting provider.
External links
Provider and source links take you to third-party sites. Those sites may use cookies, tracking, affiliate attribution or their own forms and accounts. Their privacy policies and terms apply after you leave MoverAdvice.
If you email [email protected], your message may include your name, email address and any personal information you choose to provide. Email providers process messages under their own policies. We use the message to address your request; avoid sending sensitive details that are not necessary.
Remove browser-stored information
Use Clear in the comparison tool or directory tray to empty the application’s shortlist. To remove its localStorage completely, use your browser’s site-data settings for this domain, or clear browsing data that includes site storage. You can remove search or comparison URLs from your browser history separately.
Blocking browser storage does not prevent browsing the directory, though comparison selections may no longer persist.
